3.5Blues RockThe Black KeysEl CaminoLonely Boy, Dead and Gone, Gold On The Ceiling, Money Maker, Nova BabyBuckly Recommendation:A pretty solid album, punchy and deep with lots of Fuzz.  Yet another White Stripes copier with a softer touch. I like some of the Neil Young type garage guitar too. Some Ian Astbury (the Cult) pitch on Money Maker. Kids really love Lonely Boy and Gold on the Ceiling.
3.5Pop Alternative RockThe DrumsPortamentoBook of Revelation, Days, What You were, What You Were. How it EndedThird Album:  Favorite album - Really good production quality here.  Great melodies. Love the "Days" song.  Some "Sparks" influence.
3.5RockCold PlayMylo XylotoHurts Like Heaven, Paradise, Charlie Brown, Every TearDrop is a WaterfallAlbum starts out strong.  Brings back memories of the old U2 and Simple Minds.  I really like "Charlie Brown" - gives me the chills when real loud driving down the highway.
3.5Indie RockVampire WeekendContraHoliday, Taxi Cab, Diplomat's SonNeighbor Ed Recommendation:
Paul Simonish voice. Simple, pleasant, refreshing, happy, quirky, light, fun and unique!  Songs sound better and better.  Afro beats reminesent of early David Bryne/Talking Heads without the guitar.
3.5Indie RockVampire WeekendVampire WeekendOxford Comma, A-Punk, Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, M79, One (Blakes'Got a New Face), I Stand Corrected, The Kids Don't Stand a ChanceFirst Album: Probably the best one.
3.5ElectronicJohn FoxxMetamatic Delux EditionNice to have this in digital form once and for all.  Not quite Gary Numan but he tried.
3JazzWes Montgomery Bumpin' On SunsetI grew up with this constantly on my Dad's turn table just had to get it to remember how good jazz guitar used to be.

3RockFlorence and the MachineCeremonialsKind of reminds me of the old Annie Lennox days. Very full sound with many anthems.  You have to be in a certain mood - very heavy.
3Surf RevivalLaika and the CosmonautsAmazing Colossal BandAztec 2 Step, Floating, Get CarterThanks Greg for the recommendation!  Desert trekking music.
3Surf RockLos StraitjacketsViva Los StraitjacketsThe Casbah, Pacifica, Swamp FirePound the Pacifica's and Dance!  Another great one from Greg.

3RockRolling Stones Beggars BanquetNeigbor Ed recommends to go back to the far past and re-kindle this classic - he can't take the needle off the album.
2.5Pop Alternative RockThe DrumsThe DrumsBest Friend, Book of Stories, I''ll Never Drop My SwordSecond Album:
There are really getting better on this one.  More catchy toons.

2.5ElectronicThe Naked and FamousPassive Me Aggressive YouPunching in a DreamSome fun easy electronica
2Alternative Indie RockThe Black BellesThe Black BellesThe Wrong Door, Howl At The Moon, Pushing Up DasiesBuckly Recommendation: Voice is kind of like Gwen Stafani with a few  Lene Lovich pitches.  Some White Stripe background riffs. Spooky Halloweenish like Dead Weather.
2Electronic PopMathew HerbertOne OneLeipzigIf you feel if you want to go on a electronic trip hop.  Might be a little too trippy for me.
2Pop Alternative RockThe DrumsSummertimeLet's Go Surfing, Saddest SummerFirst Album (not the best one).  I love these guys because they bring me back to my high school days  when I tried to start a band.  They sound like something I could have played in the 80s.  Very simple but they have some very catchy toons.  Some Smiths, New Order, Marc Almond, PinBack influence.

2PopThe BanglesSweetheart of the SunAnna LeeHad to get it because of how they sounded on KLOS/Mark-Brian show. Susanna Hoffs still has the voice. A bit of an edgy album.
2ElectronicaThe PhoenixWolfgang Amadeus Phoenix1901Kind of whiny with some Florence background tubelar bell melodies.
2Blues Rock/Spoken WordTom WaitsBad As MeGood if you are over the top drunk.  Hard to listen to sober.
2Indie RockBand of SkullsBaby Darling Doll Face HoneyDeath By Diamonds and PearlsThat’s one kick ass song.
2Pop ElectronicThe Human LeagueCredoI thought this may have been a comback.  All the same players but the comeback failed.  Lacking the umph bigtime.  Can barely listen to the entire album. Daughter did put one song on her Ipod.
